"This is the first project with which I used a rendering program of any kind and form•Z has totally changed the way I deal with clients. I used to spend countless hours constructing actual models for client approval. Now I accomplish the same thing in about a day, along with variations, and the results have been very well received. I have always felt that it is too easy to 'lie' with a perspective sketch. With computer renderings I do not feel I have to apologize for unexpected results-what you see is pretty much what you get. I love them and the clients do too. The renderings shown here were done in the Spring of 2001. Construction of the project started in June 2001. The comment I heard over and over during installation was, 'Wow! It looks just like the picture.'"

by N. Scrivner, Pacific Studio
The Port Townsend Marine Science Center, located in Port Townsend, Washington, is a small, nonprofit educational institution geared mostly towards school aged children. They operate a marine facility on a dock in Admiralty Inlet and this facility on the shore, which was converted from an old engine shop. The exhibit space is approximately 22' x 30' and tells the natural history of the area dealing with the interface between sea and shore.
