        Project Description:
An Accessible Café on Amtrak Passenger Cars
A Collaborative Project: Amtrak and Carnegie Mellon University, Department
        of Design.

In response to the passage of the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act),
the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) and the Carnegie Mellon
University, Department of Design, signed a research agreement "to promote
the increase of useful knowledge relating to improving accessibility of
Amtrak passenger cars" for all passengers. One project in this collaborative
work was the accessible Café: Design a café area for use on
Amtrak's long distance passenger cars, which is easily accessible, easy
to understand and to use, and a pleasant environment for every user.
